The Barn at Fallingwater
- Built in 1870 as part of Tissue Farm, the barn was later entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in 1963
- 12,000 SF renovations for the preservation and adaption of the reuse historic barn at Fallingwater
- Project features include
- New geothermal heat pump system and radiant floor heating to reduce the overall energy consumption of the building by over 40%
- Providing new habitat for the relocation of an existing bat population
- Connection to a blackwater/graywater recycling system to treat 100% of sanitary sewage on-site
- Purchasing “Green” power from a local energy supplier
- Building reuse maintained 100% of the existing shell
- Over 20% recycled content, certified wood, and low-emitting materials
- Silver Certified LEED U.S. Green Building
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and the U.S. Green Building Council
