South Mountain Restoration Center

South Mountain Restoration Center is a 159 bed, multi-building long-term care facility.

The goals of the project are to increase resiliency by fully utilizing advantages of utility connections, decrease risk of equipment failure and eliminate power outages, increase safety for the staff, occupants, and visitors to the site, and plan for current and future electrical needs of the facility.

The design involved the replacement of the following:

  • Medium voltage utility service entrance and metering
  • Main campus medium voltage switchgear
  • Underground medium voltage distribution cabling
  • Building unit substations’ medium voltage switchgear
  • Individual building service transformers
  • Low voltage main distribution panelboards within each building
