Congratulations to Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation (WCIDC) and the Commerce Crossing Industrial Park for being selected as the 2023 Commercial Project of the year by the Engineer’s Society of Western PA!
WCIDC engaged H.F. Lenz Company to provide the engineering services to assist and complete the necessary planning, coordination and design aspects for the new 220-acre park, which provides a platform for economic growth and innovation by providing pad ready building sites in an accessible location and near major Western Pennsylvania cities such as Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Uniontown and Washington, Pennsylvania. PA Route 70 provides direct access to the park (via exit 54), I-76 is within 3.5 miles, and the Southwest Pennsylvania Rail Spur provides railway connections including Norfolk Southern, CSX Transportation, and Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway, offering access to the entire North American rail network. The new industrial park encompasses five buildable lots ranging from 9.8 to 28.8 acres. To date, three lots have been sold, one is optioned, and the other is currently available.
The project included a variety of challenging technical aspects, innovation, and ingenuity that facilitated local economic growth, and provides new employment opportunities and improved public relations.
