We are excited to announce that our 2025 Charity Golf Outing beneficiary will be Cambria County Backpack Project! This year’s event will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, Old Course.
The Johnstown Backpack Project was started by a handful of volunteers distributing weekend food to children attending the Greater Johnstown School District. As the program expanded to serve more children in more schools, the name was changed to the Cambria County Backpack Project. Cambria County Backpack Project’s mission is to alleviate the burden of food insecurity and promote community well-being by providing children with healthy and sustainable food options on the weekends. The heart of the project is its volunteers who pack the weekend bags. Over 600 volunteers have dedicated their time and energy to ensuring that children come to school nourished and ready to learn on Mondays. Today, the Cambria County Backpack Project serves over 700 children each week, in 12 school districts and 5 community organizations across the county. During the 2025-26 school year, over 110,000 meals were distributed to chronically hungry children.
