• New 65,900 SF addition and renovations
• Treatment area was divided into pods to accommodate the large fluxuations of cases throughout the year
• Project consisted of:
  • 44 new treatment rooms
  • MRI suite
  • Behavioral health unit
  • Main lobby
  • Pediatric unit
  • Administrative office suite
  • Helipad located above the roof and a shell space for future expansion
  • Snow melt systems were installed for the sidewalk and helipad
  • Variable air volume air-handlers with chilled water coils, steam heating, and UV disinfection provide heating and cooling
  • Upgrade to the stand-by generator distribution system to expand the essential power
• Involved careful planning for continuity of service of the existing emergency department during construction
