National Parks and Rec Month!

July is Park and Recreation Month and to celebrate we will be highlighting some of our parks, trails and recreational projects throughout the month!

We are proud to have been a part of so many of these projects over the years. We have served as both the prime contractor and as a subconsultant on multiple Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contracts with the National Park Service and the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). We have also worked with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, PA Department of General Services, the PA Game Commission and with other state and county agencies, redevelopment authorities, planners and developers on riverfront trails and recreational spaces.

This week we would like to highlight some of the projects completed for the National Park Service!

H.F. Lenz has been providing engineering services for the National Park Service since 1992 and we are proud to have provided engineering services for 30+ sites in 15 states under eight different IDIQ contracts. Our services have included project management, master planning, feasibility studies, multi-discipline engineering design, site utilities, land surveying and mapping, trail design and permitting services.

Some of these projects have included Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, The Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Sandstone Visitor at New River George National River, Carlsbad Caverns, Edison National Historic Park, The Second Bank of the United States, Ford’s Theatre, Independence Hall, the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, and many more.

This is also a month to celebrate and thank the hardworking park rangers and employees that manage and protect our parks, monuments, and other natural, historical, and recreational properties.

We hope you take some time to visit these sites and experience a lifetime of discovery!
